Fundraiser to Support Samvedna Women and Children

Who are Samvedna?

In Hindi, the term "Samvedna" means the desire to help others in need. Samvedna was founded in 2014 by Ms. Aarti Saxena in Rishikesh, India, in response to the urgent and growing need to support rural women and children to move beyond disadvantage through sustainable social programs.


What do Samvedna do?

Since then, Samvedna has been working tirelessly to support women through upskilling them through textile, sewing and dressmaking programs and providing job opportunities within their Samvedna Handmade shop. Samvedna also offers educational and personal growth workshops, including English and computer technology skills.

The women Samvedna supports have come from challenging backgrounds with little to no assistance to provide for their own family and children. This means that these programs are true economical lifelines for these women and children, creating a pathway out of disadvantage that will change their lives and the lives of their families forever.


What has been the impact of Covid-19?

Due to the covid-19 pandemic, Samvedna women and children in India need our help more than ever in order to support their everyday needs and continue their sustainable programs. These programs support the women and children to step out of disadvantage and are critical for their everyday living.

The covid-19 pandemic has adversely impacted the work of Samvedna and they are in desperate need of funds to continue to support these vulnerable women and children. Entire communities are facing severe economic hardship, and when economic hardship hits it is women and children already living in disadvantage who are often most affected. This is a vital time to support Samvedna and the important and compassionate work they do.

As we move into the celebration of Christmas, we are sacredly inviting you to extend your support for this global appeal.
