Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy

Dear brothers and sisters, God willing, I'm walking 250K to raise money for 2500 meals for the people of Yemen.

The condition of Yemen is heart breaking. The pictures of skeletal malnourished children should wake our conscience. They are people like us, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, sons daughters undergoing tremendous suffering.

Allah says:

وَيُطْعِمُونَ الطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا
and they feed food—for the love of Him—a needy person , orphan and captive. (Surah Insan, 76:8)

And

وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ
And he does not urge the (offering of) food to the poor. (Surah Ma'oon, 107:3)


Abu Huraira reported that Allah's Messenger ﷺ said that Allah the Mighty and Majestic will say on the day of resurrection:

يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ اسْتَطْعَمْتُكَ فَلَمْ تُطْعِمْنِي ‏.‏ قَالَ يَا رَبِّ وَكَيْفَ أُطْعِمُكَ وَأَنْتَ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّهُ اسْتَطْعَمَكَ عَبْدِي فُلاَنٌ فَلَمْ تُطْعِمْهُ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّكَ لَوْ أَطْعَمْتَهُ لَوَجَدْتَ ذَلِكَ عِنْدِي

O son of Adam, I asked food from you but you did not feed Me.
He would say: Lord, how could I feed You while You are the Lord of the worlds?
He said: Didn't you know that such and such slave of Mine asked food from you but you did not feed him, Didn't you know that had you fed him you would have found that near Me? (Muslim, 2569)

The Prophet ﷺ said after arriving in Madinah:

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ أَفْشُوا السَّلاَمَ وَأَطْعِمُوا الطَّعَامَ وَصِلُوا الأَرْحَامَ وَصَلُّوا بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّاسُ نِيَامٌ تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ بِسَلاَمٍ
O people! Spread (the greeting of) peace, feed food, connect (uphold) the family ties, and pray during the night while people are sleeping, and you will enter Paradise with peace. (Sunan Ibn Majah 3251, Sahih - Darussalam)
