In light of the current situation in Afghanistan, Afghan Women on the Move are expecting a large number of Afghan Refugees in the days and months, settling in Australia can be a long and difficult process for refugee families. Many people from refugee backgrounds have experienced repeated exposure to traumatic events prior to their arrival in Australia, including torture, time spent in dangerous refugee camps and loss or separation from close family members. In addition to this, the process of adjustment to a complex and unfamiliar society is often a baffling and stressful experience for families. This places huge demands on families who are also struggling with coming to terms with a different set of societal and cultural rules. Such pressures can contribute to family conflict, relationship breakdown and isolation. Your donation will be utilised by AWOM to organise creative and engaging programs which includes speakers, entertainment, catering where applicable and any additional expenses for the flagship to help the vulnerable and displaced people in Afghans FOOD, WATER, CLOTHES, TENT, AND OTHER ESSENTIAL NEEDS. 100% of your donations will go to the charity.
