In January of this year our beautiful Roy boy was rushed to hospital where he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Type 1 Diabetes is a chronic life threatening autoimmune disease in which the persons pancreas produces little to no insulin. It is not caused by poor diet or lifestyle choices, there is currently no cure or prevention, it can come on at any age and it requires insulin dependency for life. My 2yr old is now my Hero! He deals with all of the challenges of this disease every minute of every day. I have therefore decided to challenge myself and run the Half Marathon at the Melbourne Marathon to help raise awareness and funds for The Type One Foundation.
