The Aftershock raises funds and awareness for high mortality rate cancers. High mortality rate cancers are cancers that are less commonly diagnosed and because of a lack of funding, and therefore research, five-year survival rates over the last 30 years have not improved.
The Aftershock was founded by Suz Neate, whose mum, Teresa, passed away from a rare form of thyroid cancer which spread to her spine in 2016. Teresa is the inspiration behind The Aftershock and before being paralysed from a spinal tumour, she walked 6 km's every single day.
For a donation of $20, Join us in Metung on Sunday June 13th as we walk to raise awareness for these lesser known cancers. We will be meeting at 10:30am, outside King & Heath office, Metung Road. All proceeds raised will be going straight into high mortality rate cancer research.
If you'd like to purchase merchandise before the walk, please reach out to Suz (suzanne.neate9@gmail.com) or Robyn Kanat.
We are a start-up Not for Profit (NFP) organisation raising funds and awareness for high mortality rate cancers. High mortality rate cancers are cancers that are less commonly diagnosed resulting in a lack of research and low improvement on five year survival rates over the last 30 years.
