About
Tuvia Lipson, a son, a brother, a father, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, a palmachnik, soldier and holocaust survivor passed away on 21 December 2020. His 96th birthday would have been on 26 June 2021.
As his grandson and to honor his memory, and his many years as a dedicated volunteer and educator at the Melbourne JHC, a place he called home and was afforded the opportunity to tell his story, I am setting up this fundraising page and will be running 220km throughout the month of June in his name.
220km represents roughly the distance between Lodz, Poland where Tuvia was taken from and Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp where much of his family perished.
Any donation, no matter how small is much appreciated to continuing to build on not only his legacy, but the legacy of so many other lives lost, but told through the amazing people at the JHC.

The Melbourne Holocaust Museum is an institution dedicated to the 6 million Jews murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators between 1933-45. We consider the finest memorial to be an education program aiming to combat antisemitism, racism and prejudice and foster understanding between people.
