???? ??? ?? ????????? ????? ???? ??? ?? ???? ???????????. First, the bushfires devastated many communities across Australia and choked not only the sky, but also the wildlife that made their homes within the 46 million acres of lost habitat. Following shortly behind was the emergence of Covid-19 and the beginning of what has become a worldwide nightmare - shattering the tourism industry (amongst others) and forcing many into unemployment & welfare. On May 21st, 2021 I will set off on an immense solo run & hike across Tasmania with the goal to raise at least $10,000 AUD for charitable causes. I hope to help offset these disasters in some small way by doing what I know, at an extreme level to generate support. Beginning at Devonport, I will weave my way down to Cradle Mountain National Pack, trek through the heart of Tasmania, pass through the city of Hobart, continue across to the Three Capes Track and complete the 600km route at Fortescue Bay - with the whole endeavour to take place across 20 days. It'll be tough, really tough. But, you can leave the daily grind, blood, sweat and tears to me… I am asking you, my friends and family to help me succeed on the fundraising front. This isn't just a typical fundraiser though - because I've been incredibly lucky to secure the support of a number of sponsors who have provided some goodies that can be won by anyone in AU & NZ who makes a donation! Pretty neat right?! For every $20 donation made, you will receive one entry into the prize draw and no, there's no limit on how many entries you can have. Prizes will be announced within the next week or so and drawn in June - but let me just say the prizes are pretty awesome! So for now, please show your support by heading on over to the fundraising page and throwing a few sheckles towards the important causes listed there. You have the choice to donate to any one of the three organisations I've selected (Beyond Blue, NSW Rural Fire Service or WIRES) - or even all three if you so wish. I will be sharing more information on each of those charities in the coming weeks. This will be my biggest solo challenge yet and I'm looking forward to sharing more about the charities I've chosen to support, the awesome brands who are supporting my trek and of course, more about the trek itself - soon! I'll be sharing most of the experience on my Jaseinthewild Facebook page (www.facebook.com/jaseinthewildau). So if you’re not already, follow the page or follow my Instagram (@jaseinthewild) to keep up to speed on the preparation, fundraising, prizes and of course, the adventure! It's going to be tough! Wish me luck!

The first episode of the Tasmanian Traverse will go live this Friday morning (30th June). Keep an eye on my Instagram (Jaseinthewild) or my Facebook page (Jaseinthewildau) if you want to check it out. Even better, I'll be announcing the prize winners on Sunday (Aug 1st) - so think lucky thoughts! Once the names have been drawn, I will contact the winners and in order from 1st onwards the winners will be allowed to pick the prize they want from the overall pool of prizes. Another big thanks to all of you who have so kindly made a donation!! I wish you all good luck with the prizes. Jason.

Hey folks! A long overdue message to again thank each and every one of you for your support both financially and via my social channels. To say it's heartwarming and empowering to receive messages of support while tackling adventures like this is an understatement! As you'd all likely know by now, I have completed the 20 day trek and now I'm working hard behind the scenes to create the videos. So if you're not already, follow @jaseinthewild on Instagram or Jaseinthewildau on Facebook to get the heads up when the videos are finished. Also, don't forget you're all in the draw for some awesome prizes. I originally aimed to award those prizes in July, but it's tied to the videos being completed as I hope they will continue to raise the fundraising amount - so it may push out slightly. We'll see how editing goes! Thanks again everyone! Jason

Less than a week! This time next week I'll be a few hours in to my 20 day trek - I can't believe it's nearly time to get going. I wanted to take a moment to say a big, no huge, no, hu-friecken-mongous thank you to each and every one of you who have donated up to this point. Your support, especially at the pre-walk stage is so critical - you've helped to motivate and energise me towards achieving this lofty objective and you've done it before there's even anything really exciting happening. That's true support and I thank you all sincerely - I'm sure all three charities would echo my thanks. As you'd know, you're all in the draw for the many prizes on offer too. The draw will happen in July - so still a little time to wait but in the meantime I hope the Tasmanian Traverse keeps you a little entertained. Thank you again, really. Jason.

It's been a little quiet, I know.. Forgive me for the radio silence. I've been off hiking in the Warrumbungles & Snowy Mountains - which thanks to the wild weather, offered me a great opportunity to test some of my gear for Tasmania. I'm pleased to say everything held up well! Just under two months now before I set off and sheesh I still have a lot to do! Looking forward to sharing some updates with you all in the coming weeks. Thank you so much for your support so far! If you haven't already, follow my Instagram (@jaseinthewild) or my Facebook page (Jaseinthewildau) to keep up to speed as we get closer and closer to lift off :) Jason.

On Monday I shared my upcoming 600km Tasmanian Traverse - a solo trek with the objective of raising $10,000 for charity. I'm so pleased that just days later (thanks to all your incredible support) the fundraising has hit $1,000 today. That's 1,000 hard earned dollars that you have shared selflessly with some very important charities and I can't thank you all enough! I can however remind you that for each $20 you donated, you scored yourself an entry into the AU & NZ Price Draw, to be awarded at the end of June. Prizes are still under wraps, but let me just tell you - they're awesome! So thank you, thank you & thank you again for your support so far. There's still a long way to go to reach the $10,000 mark - so please, share these posts, share the fundraising link, tell your friends - whatever you can do to help!

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far! It's less than three months before I set off on this epic challenge and knowing I have your support makes a bigger impact than you might realise. I continue to finalise the itinerary and make the necessary bookings whilst testing new gear and deciding on my overall kit for both the multi-day hiking portions & long distance run / walk portions. It's all coming together! Bit by bit.
