Friends of Buddina is challenging the approval of a high-rise proposed on the beachfront of Buddina beach. This high-density, high-rise will: • Negatively impact Loggerhead turtle's nesting habitat at Buddina Beach • Destroy the character and lifestyle of this beachside community • Increase traffic on our already clogged backstreets • Overshadow the local primary school oval We need your help now! Our court date has been set for 26th and 27th November 2020. Your help is urgently needed for us to continue this fight. Friends of Buddina is a community group that promotes the character and liveability of Buddina Beach on the Sunshine Coast. The unique character and liveability of this area has come under threat from developers who will destroy the character and lifestyle of this relaxed beachside community by redeveloping homes into high-rises. Buddina is home to endangered Loggerhead marine turtles who use Buddina beach to dig their nests. Lights from high-rises are known to deter turtles from nesting and disorientate hatchlings from finding the ocean. We need your help to fund our legal costs.
