Raising funds for: Anthony Munro
At work Monday, feeling a bit off Thursday, starting the fight of your life Friday. This is reality for Anthony Munro after being given a Stage 4 Glioblastoma diagnosis - an aggressive, terminal form of brain cancer. The last thing you expect as a fit, career driven family man of 43. Munro is now undergoing 6 weeks of aggressive radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment in order to fight this diagnosis, and give himself the best chance to have quality of remaining life and spend much more time with his family creating the best memories. Anthony’s family is everything to him, with a gorgeous Partner and two kids aged 6 and 3. He is someone who will always go the extra mile to help out his family and friends so now we want to re-pay his generosity a little by helping him out financially towards things like: - Contributing to cost of medications, treatments and supportive services - House modifications required to help him cope with his future physical changes (left body paralysis) - Finn & Harper's future Education costs - Family outings, excursions and memory opportunities - Transportation, travel and other associated costs associated with treatments and daily doctor visits (Anthony is unable to drive due to the location of the tumours and recent brain surgery) Anthony didn’t ask us to do this - we suggested it. Nor does he expect anyone to donate, but thankfully has agreed to us creating this platform so that people can donate if they wish. Thank you, on behalf of Anthony, Rhiannon, Finn & Harper, for the generosity, kindness and support at this challenging time.

It is with much sadness and a heavy heart that we share our Anthony Munro passed peacefully Tuesday morning. His brave fight with Brain Cancer was fought with courage, his love for his family was so very strong and they were by his side to the very end. We are his second family at Sarah and the industry he loved – he spoke so strongly of the joy he had working with everyone, and took strength from the support so many gave. Another of Anthony’s true loves was Lacrosse, which saw him play for more than 30 years for both Burnside Lacrosse Club and Sturt Lacrosse Club, represent SA on numerous occasions and represent Australia in 2011. He really appreciated the kind wishes, updates, financial support and love from so many. Anthony’s Funeral will be held at 3pm, Wednesday 9th October Centennial Park, Heysen Chapel 760 Goodwood Road, Pasadena Directly followed by a wake at The Sturt Lacrosse Club At this time, let’s remember the Anthony we knew so well – the kind hearted gentleman who was never afraid to stand out and make a difference; who was always willing to support people and drive further improvement and development within our business and across the industry. Not only did Anthony make an impact to all those fortunate to know him, but his impact on our business has been significant. The strength of our new business team will forever be part of his legacy. He led the incorporation of BIM modelling in our estimates/cost planning, with the use of Cost X software as part of our process. Our great work and development of our people in our New Business team continues in his memory. May Mr. Munro Rest in Peace - forever in our thoughts. Wishing much strength, kindness and love at this time to all who were privileged to have known him. Anthony was passionate about bringing something good out of his situation and was working with the Flinders Foundation to support their research in early brain cancer diagnosis to prevent other families going through what he did. Hi All, Just checking in with a little update – Anthony has had quite a bit of work done at his house now, finishing off some of the reno’s he was working on and ticking some things off that home job list we all know too well! He now has a brilliant timber deck out the back he will be able to enjoy & soak up some of the spring sun - big thanks to his mate Craig from Timberwolf Construction! Anthony & the family had a great time at the aquarium in Melbourne late July, before returning to get stuck into another heavier round of Chemo (unfortunately the first round of Chemo & Radiation didn’t slow the tumor growth as much as hoped). This second round was pretty full on, and so Anthony has decided to stop the chemo, hoping that without its side effects he will be able to enjoy his time more. His left side is giving him some trouble, and he’s lost vision in his right eye, but the strong Munro we know & love is still doing everything he can to stay positive! Thanks again to everyone – your love, support & positive energy at this time is definitely appreciated!

Anthony is now through the active part of his first treatment cycle; he had a visit with his Oncologist on Wednesday last week and all is currently going as planned. Unfortunately he is still experiencing some swelling from the radiation which is having an effect on some of his movement in his left side - hopefully the swelling will dissipate over the next week or two, and some of the associated symptoms will subside. Due to the treatment, Anthony is pretty exhausted at the moment BUT he is conserving energy & looking forward to a family trip to Melbourne to take the kids to the Aquarium on Monday :-) When he gets back he will have some more scans and tests and he will get a better idea on what kind of effect the treatment has had on the tumor & will establish the next plan of attack. Again he would like to thank everyone for their incredible generosity and support – its an indescribable thing to go through, and everyone’s support is invaluable

Thank you all SO much for your incredible generosity- Anthony is again overwhelmed with all of your love and support! Anthony is currently beginning week 4 of his 6 weeks of chemo & radiation, he’s across the half way mark and has been holding up pretty well throughout treatment so far, all things considered. Once the 6 weeks is up Anthony will get a chance to enjoy some family time and put some of your generous contributions towards some family adventures which they are all very much looking forward to. He will then go back in for a scan 4 weeks later to see how things are tracking and figure out the next game plan. Anthony celebrated his 44th birthday last week, and the work fam had a little surprise lunch to celebrate :-)
