The TICNIC Ride for Tourette's is an annual charity motorcycle ride raising funds for the Tourette Syndrome Association of Australia, assisting with the funding for their annual camp for children and families affected by Tourette syndrome. TS is a neurological disorder that presents as vocal and or motor tics and ranges from mild to severe. People affected by TS usually have a range of co morbid conditions such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, OCD, Sleep latency, ODD, Dysgraphia and depression just to name a few. There is a huge stigma attached to TS and those affected are usually the target of bullying. Both my husband and young son have TS so I am well aware of the issues and stigmas involved. The TSAA run an annual camp for children and families affected by TS and all donation are used to assist in the running of this camp which allows those affected to meet others with the disorder. Many children who attend the camp are meeting others with TS for the first time, and this can be a huge boost to their self confidence. I hope you can help this great cause by donating what you can.
