7 Peaks 7 People 7 Days 7 Stories - 1 Cause We are SEVEN cyclists passionate about all things cycling and what the cycling community has provided us; and we want to use this appreciation to support community through cycling - via the 7 Peaks 7 Days Ride (7peaks7days.com). In November we embark on a CHALLENGE. Over SEVEN days our SEVEN riders will conquer the SEVEN mountains of the 7 Peaks Ride...Mt Baw Baw, Lake Mountain, Mt Buller, Mt Buffalo, Falls Creek, Dinner Plain, Mt Hotham. We do this to raise awareness for, and demystify, EATING DISORDERS. We all know eating disorders exist, but for most of us, we don't know much beyond that. Yet they’re incredibly prevalent (Australian estimates are 1 in 24) but not discussed. As such they come coupled with stigma and shame. It is our GOAL to shed light on this and support not just those suffering from eating disorders, but also the people who love and care for them. Eating disorders are not a lifestyle choice, nor a diet gone wrong - they are a MENTAL ILLNESS, one that can ravage a person’s life. Several of our riders are more than aware of this, having themselves suffered and all of whom have used cycling as a powerful tool in their journey to recovery. Eating disorders impact more than the individual, they impact a COMMUNITY. Which is why we are using our cycling community to advance awareness, start CONVERSATIONS and RAISE MONEY
