Assistance

I had surgery approx 6 weeks post diagnosis 2011 for a brain tumour causing Acromegaly. Delay in diagnosis meant the tumour couldn't be completely resected. The delay in diagnosis also meant some devastating physical changes that meant people didn't recognise me, people I had known all my life. I suffered from agoraphobia. I have been very unwell and was unable to work resulting in severe financial hardship. The effects of the tumour have been devastating and the ongoing health issues are both physically and emotionally draining. I have paid insurance for 20 years in the event I get a serious illness they have said this tumour is not covered. I am seeking a review. I have had more surgery this year which was unsuccessful and ongoing treatment has so far failed to halt the disease and effects of the tumour. Since the initial diagnosis I have gone on to be diagnosed with a meningioma and a pineal cyst both with their own set of challenges.
