As I travel around Australia I'm going to be talking to interested people about the Buddha's teachings. If they want a reminder of that conversation I will leave them with one of the small Buddhas that will be in my pocket.
The Buddhas will have been donated by members of the Buddhist Community that I belong to and am Ordained within - the Triratna Buddhist Community.
You will be able to recognise me over that period as I plan to wear my kesa (white ritual garment worn like a scarf which has the symbol of our Order on it) every day during that 14 months.
I have helped teach meditation and Buddhism to many people over the past 20 years, in Triratna centres here in Australia and in the UK.
I have done this whilst working as a primary school teacher and raising a family.
I now have the opportunity to spend 14 months visiting 8 locations on a teaching pilgrimage to Triratna centres along the east coast of Australia to help spread the Dharma.
Whilst at these locations I will be provided with a bed and food but all of my other costs of the year need to be covered by funds I can raise.
I am hoping to raise $14,500 to cover food (for the weeks I am not supported by Centres), travel, Order dana, health, medical insurance, car insurance and rego, pocket money, phone, retreats.
Thank you for your interest in reading this and if you now feel inspired to support this pilgrimage, thank you for your generosity.
I am raising funds so that I can continue a pilgrimage I am doing to volunteer at 8 Triratna Buddhist groups / centres. I will be running retreats and classes sharing teachings on mindfulness and loving kindness. I will also be handing out Buddhas to strangers I meet and talk to along the way.

Travel well dear Maitripala, I will check in on your blog again (and review my "Mindfully Alive" notes again and again, especially the poetry and the signs on the walls).
We just enjoyed a delightful and uplifting Order/Mitra day at Naganaga and have a Sangha retreat coming up.
I've sold my house and will move into Gambhiraja's on 25 November.
