Lifeline services, operated by UnitingCare Community in Queensland, are often the first point of contact for people in crisis who are experiencing domestic and family violence. In 2013-14 Queensland recorded the highest number of calls that identified domestic violence as a safety concern.

We know the human story behind these overwhelming statistics because we work with children, young people, adults and elders across Queensland. UnitingCare Community offers the following programs to help ensure that women and children in danger of domestic and family violence are safe, heard and supported. To see more about our services or to get help click here.

  • Domestic and Family Violence Counselling Programs
  • Supporting the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and people with a disability through our Foster Care, Respite Care and Counselling services.
  • Providing secure accommodation to women and children through our Refuge. We also offer Supported Accommodation.
  • Holding perpetrators accountable and engaging them in programs to address their behaviours through our Men’s Stopping Violence Group Program and supporting partners and children of the participants.
  • Supporting women with our living skills and personal development programs, and our Prevention and Intervention Groups.

Your support will help UnitingCare Community to work with and empower families to be resilient, stable and secure in their everyday life.

Please consider giving a gift this month. Every dollar you donate is used most efficiently to help the maximum amount of people who are in crisis.

  • A gift of $60 would assist a family with petrol or public transport costs to escape safely.
  • A gift of $75 will assist a family with a starter food parcel.
  • A gift of $250 would provide 1 week of safe emergency accommodation for a family of 3 in our refuge.
  • A gift of $500 could cover the cost of putting a woman though a living skills and personal development program to help her get on her feet.
  • A gift of $1000 could fund therapy for a child who has experienced Domestic and Family Violence.
