The Rotary Global Swimarathon is being organised by the Rotary Club of Grantham No 354. District 1070  RIBI, UK.

The first Rotary Global Swimarathon in 2012 raised US$105,000 towards End Polio and at the same time created a new Guinness World Record of 4,546 people all swimming at the same time in 64 locations around the world.

So successful was the event that it will take place again on Rotary Day, Saturday 23rd February 2013.

The main purpose is to raise funds to help Rotary International eradicate Polio, which still exists in 3 countries in the world.

All we are asking, is for every Rotary Club around the world to organise a Swimarathon or swimming event in their local town and get as many people to swim and raise sponsorship.

Not only will it help the fight against Polio, it will raise awareness of Rotary in your local Community, it will encourage everyone to keep fit and enjoy their swimming and also we may set a new World Record for the most people swimming in a 24 hr period (Waiting for Guinness World Records tp approve application 25/9/12).

So come on - you know you can do it - join in and lets have some fun and at the same time raise money to help End Polio and your local charities. Let's eradicate Polio together.
