Ride Around the Lake is on -  Saturday May 5th, 2012 our event team have been working non-stop to ensure it is even more successful than 2011.

Ride Around the Lake is a annual charity bike ride around the Lake Illawarra Foreshore. The event raises money for my|place - a youth housing project that meets the needs of homeless young men and women in the Illawarra.

The main ride is a 40km circuit around Lake Illawarra with shorter circuits available for younger riders.

Our main 40km circuit has 3 start times: 7:15am, 7:30am, and 7:45am. The ride starts and finishes at the Illawarra Yacht Club located at 1 Northcliffe Drive Warrawong.

The Shorter 12km and 4km rides also start and finish at the Illawarra Yacht Club, riders can start these routes at 8:45am.

The event has been running for 3 years and has raised in excess of $100,000 during this time.

The hope is that 2012 will see the RATL event raise even more funds for my|place.

In 2011, Ride Around the Lake attracted over 500 riders, 150 volunteers & 200 spectators. 2012 will see in excess of 800 riders, 200 volunteers and even more spectators.

The Ride Around the Lake crew pride themselves on working very closely with our sponsors, stakeholders, local Council, RTA and NSW Policing to ensure a fun, safe and successful event.
