Walk Information

Walk4Friendship is a great opportunity for individuals and teams to come together for a fun-filled event while making a difference in the lives of children and young adults with special needs. You and your teammates will take the 5 km or 3 km family walk in a proud demonstration of community awareness, festivity and unity.

Location

Princess Park- Caulfield South.(Melway 68 B6)

Walk begins at Princess Park, South Caulfield -Corner Hawthorn Rd and Maple St and continues up to Glen Eira Rd, then onto Bambra Rd - continuing for 1 km approx making a right into Dover St and back around to Princess park.

3.00 pm: Registration Opens & T-shirt pickup

3.15 - 4.00 Family Entertainment

4:00 pm: Walk Begins

5.00 - 7.00 pm Fun, Food - Friendship Fair & Acrobatic Show featuring 'The Twins' from France

Our aim is too meet the growing needs and alleviate the plight of isolation and the sense of community exclusion of children and young adults with special needs in the community. This is done by providing every individual with special needs, the support, friendship and inclusion that they deserve.

Friendship Circle creates friendship in the lives of individuals with special needs and those facing isolation while providing an opportunity to become a contributing member of the community. Through our programming, Friendship Circle aims to promote an inclusive community that values all individuals regardless of the challenges they face.

At the heart of all of the Friendship Circle’s programming is the belief that each and every individual can be a productive member of the community and benefit from the social support offered by one’s peers. Friendship, acceptance and a chance to participate in socially accepted bonding opportunities are critical to achieving this type of inclusive society.
The Friendship Circle aims to provide children and teenagers with special needs and their families with many of the social and recreational opportunities that are currently available to the general community. These experiences are essential building blocks for an individual to acquire confidence and self esteem and to ultimately lead a productive adult lifestyle.

We envisage a world in which people with special needs and their families experience acceptance, inclusion and friendship as contributing members of society.
The Friendship Circle aims to create an environment for teens that will nurture and inspire them with meaning, purpose, and self-value; a sense of connection to and responsibility for the greater Jewish community through innovative and stimulating programs. We see this as essential to developing and producing the members and leaders of tomorrow’s Jewish community.
