As a long time supporter of CAPS, I am once again making a pilgrimage across France for the 2014 Walk for Life. The Walk for Life aims to increase awareness of the prevalence of suicide and raises vital funds to enable CAPS to continue supporting those at risk of suicide. CAPS TALK SUICIDE Support Service is unique and vital in reducing the number of lives lost to suicide, I hope to raise even more funds than in 2013 with a goal of raising at least $10,000 which will go into directly supporting those at risk.

Suicide Prevention Pathways (SPP)

SPP aim is to reduce the prevalence of suicide by offering services that educate, raise awareness and above all provide emotional and practical support to those at risk of suicide and their family and friends. Our goal is to help individuals find strength in their ability to cope, to improve their emotional wellbeing and build resilience in order to manage the challenges that life presents.

SPP is a self-funded not for profit relying soley on the generosity of individuals and businesses in the community to help us continue providing our unique and valuable service.

SPP TALK SUICIDE Support

SPP's TALK SUICIDE Support (TSS) provides ongoing, non-clinical, emotional and practical support to individuals, families and friends of those at risk of suicide in the Brisbane area and surrounds.

Provides non-clinical and non-therapeutic emotional support to those at risk of suicide, for the purpose of enhancing well being, self-reliance and resilience.
Provides ongoing, consistent and holistic non-clinical and non-therapeutic practical support to those at risk of suicide for the purpose of reducing stress, enhancing protective factors and reducing risk.
Leads and manages a coordinated, integrated, holistic and cohesive multidisciplinary continuum of care response to those who are at risk of suicide where this is required by the client
Links those at risk of suicide into appropriate and currently existing services, supports and treatments across a variety of sectors and disciplines that will ensure a continuity of care where this is required by the client
Links those who are supporting someone at risk of suicide into appropriate and currently existing services and supports where necessary.
Where necessary and appropriate, leads a coordinated, integrated and cohesive response to those who are supporting someone at risk of suicide
Supports and provides encouragement and where necessary information and training to those individuals, groups or organisations who are supporting someone at risk of suicide.
Where necessary and appropriate, supports and enhances service delivery in local areas to those at risk of suicide their family and friends.
