Every donation, big or small means more to me than you probably realise.

I started fundraising every October after my own diagnosis with Stage III breast cancer in 2011, promising myself that if I was lucky enough to get through it, I would use my story to help raise awareness and funds for cancer research and I did just that.

But in 2018, after years of chasing. Love Your Sister gave me the opportunity to fundraise for a charity I truly believed in. What started as one fundraising year became a journey that has now lasted 9 years with LYS — and 14 years since my own cancer diagnosis.

Along the way there have been swims, walks, runs, raffles, fitness challenges, pool parties, dinners, girls’ nights, meet & greets and plenty of crazy ideas.

But behind every event, every post and every dollar is one simple reason: I never want another family to hear the words “you have cancer” and feel as helpless as mine once did.

I am now just $3,600 away from reaching $200,000 raised for one cancer charity 💥

That number is pretty emotional for me. It represents years of showing up, even when life, and cancer recovery, has thrown a few curveballs my way.
