Before running @ecoTekkSC full-time, Stuart spent years with TAFE Queensland teaching Applied Sciences — Marine Biology, Sustainability and Environmental Studies. In that time, I met so many incredible adult learners who were rebuilding their lives in their 30s after having their education disrupted as children.

The common thread?

1. Their early years were chaotic for reasons far outside their control.
2. And they carried the impacts well into adulthood.

Watching these students fight their way back into education — and thrive — taught me two things:

⭐ Potential never disappears.

⭐ But the right support at the right time can change everything.

That’s why The Pyjama Foundation means so much to me.

They step in early — at the point of crisis — to mentor children in foster care through reading, learning and confidence-building. Their Pyjama Angels give kids the encouragement and stability many adults told me they wished they’d had growing up.
