Welcome to Team “Rise and Shine” Scott Gummery and Mike Walsh and thank you for visiting our team fundraising page for OFFTRAQ 2025 Inspired by Scott’s son Spencer who at the age of two was diagnosed with “Anaplastic Ependymoma” which is an aggressive brain tumour/cancer, we have decided to join this year’s event to support this amazing cause. Spencer’s 2016 consisted of almost 9 months of Treatments and lifesaving surgery to his Brian. Including Radiation Treatment and Chemotherapy. A gruelling period that no person deserves, especially not a child. Currently Nil Evidence of Disease. Spencer is almost 12 years old and continues to inspire us every day. With the side effects of surgery, treatments, follow up scans and appointments a daily reminder of his journey. Motivated by Spencer, his amazing friends and the families we have met and shared this journey with, we have decided to once again join OFFTRAQ to raise funds for the Kids Cancer Project. An amazing organization whose mission is, “To support bold science that has the greatest chance of clinical success to improve childhood cancer treatments.” Together with their long-term vision “to see a one hundred per cent survival rate for children with cancer while eradicating the harmful impacts treatment can bring.” Founder Col Reynolds “My promise is to never give up until every child survives cancer with minimal or no long-term effects.” We vow to “Rise up and Shine” for the kids currently fighting this disease and the many more that will inevitably endure similar battles.
