It’s that time of year again when Mick puts his body on the line to do a couple of things that he loves, riding and helping those in need.
Navigating 1000km of dirt, hill climbs (and possibly mud, rain and hail again!) over the space of four days to give families of cancer patients the chance to spend quality time together at the Wallaroo Apex Cabins.
A few months ago we received an unexpected text message, a thank you from a family close by;
"I just want to thank all those amazing people who volunteer their time to join in the Apex Outback Postie Bike Ride. This year, my brother, parents, and I had an amazing week at the Wallaroo Caravan Park, which you amazing people raise valuable funds for. My brother has been diagnosed with terminal cancer, and after speaking to the Cancer Council, they advised us that we could stay at the caravan park for a week, for just the cleaning fee. For so many families, this holiday would be out of reach if they had to come up with a week's fees. We had a fantastic holiday, crabbing, squidding, and precious family time. Well done Apex Foundation". Kylie Siedel
