As a paramedic of 20 years, I have personal experience with PTSD. As a result, my road career has ended in 2020, like it has for so many others in a similar situation to me. PTSD is hard to explain, hard to live with and hard to work through. It affects individuals and their families. Being a paramedic was a massive part of who I was, so I have had to find something else to focus on, so bring on the Finke Desert Race in 2023 and I gave it a good crack! Coming in last over the 2 days, I got 'there and back'. Raising over $17,000 for Sirens Of Silence.
I am continuing to raise awareness of PTSD in first responders, with monies raised going to Sirens Of Silence Charity so that others may get the support they need.
Thanks for supporting our efforts in raising money for this cause!
Well done - be proud
