Senator Andrew McLachlan CSC proudly supports the Walk for a Veteran with PTSD and is honoured to be one of its ambassadors. Andrew served 25 years in the Australian Army Reserve which included two sojourns at the foot of the Hindu Kush in Afghanistan. Upon his return from active service, he resolved to dedicate himself to the wellbeing of veterans and their families. In addition to walking alongside his great friend Chad McLaren for this incredible initiative – Walk for a Veteran with PTSD, Andrew is a legatee of Legacy, as well as a volunteer with veteran led Disaster Relief Australia. Prior to entering the Senate in February 2020, Andrew served six years in the South Australian Parliament, which included two years as the Chamber’s President. In July 2022, Andrew was elected by his Senate colleagues to the position of Deputy President of the Senate.
