Thanks for visiting my Fundraising Page.
On June 24, in the middle of winter, I'll be eating a lot of food and trying to keep my hands warm to raise money for The Tasmanian Bike Collective (TasBC). My excuse this time will be the Devil's Cardigan 106km gravel race, which I'll be grovelling on my mountain bike. But it'll be fun, even while I'm doing it.
TasBC exists to help young people develop a range of skills, both personal and professional, in order to be their best person and live their best life. Life doesn't get easier, so we just have to get better at it. That's the aim. I tentatively volunteered at the Huon Valley workshop (HVBC), and saw so much value in the kids, the program and my participation that I took on the job of running HVBC. We are now open 3 days per week, and can only see demand increasing.
If you would like to support TasBC - and all the young people who are seizing the day by engaging with the programs - then you can:
1. Donate via this fundraising page.
2. Donate via the TasBC website.
3. Buy a bike from any of the 3 workshops.
4. Volunteer at any of the 3 workshops. On a personal note, I highly recommend this. To ask someone to strive, you must do it yourself, so I've been growing with my crew. If you have spare time and spare love for humanity, please consider.
5. Share my fundraising page with everyone you know. If like me you are quite introverted and don't like recruiting people, just recruit one extrovert to do it for you.
Additionally, if my fundraising target is met, my crew will cut me a mohawk, which I will wear until the Tassie Gift. (I might just have to wear a beanie when I visit my 82 year old parents in July!)
Thank you!
