Thanks for visiting our Fundraising Page for Team Heartfelt! We are fundraising in memory of our twin daughters, Rosie and Evie.
Rosie and Evie were born early, on the 27th July 2022, spending just 54 min apart. They belong to each other, even more than to Anne-Louise and I.
After Rosie and Evie were born, and passed, our world changed forever. Immeasurably. The time and memories we were able to create with our precious daughters is because of the amazing support and space provided by Buderim Hospital Maternity Ward - but also due to the charity Heartfelt.
Heartfelt is a not-for-profit organisation that comes and takes photos of babies and their families after they have passed. When the photographers visited us, they were so respectful and kind, encouraged us to be with, hold, and spend time with Rosie and Evie. They then sent us digital and hard copies of the photos with a USB so that we could remember, cherish and share them with our loved ones.
Heartfelt offer a volunteer service which you only know you need/want much later, once the shock settles, and the opportunity then would be gone forever. Heartfelt show-up in the most difficult circumstances, but provide warmth, comfort, encouragement, and memories. The photos we have of Rosie and Evie together, and with us, are the most precious things we own.
As part of the fundraiser, I am running the Sunshine Coast Marathon on 13th August 2023, just two weeks after Rosie and Evie’s 1st heavenly birthday. This run and fundraising activity is my gift to them, so that they can give the gift of photographic memories to other families.
The run and the training is a daunting task considering the myriad of persistent injuries, grief-fatigue and the insistent mid-thirties good-time tyre sat comfortably around my waist!
You can sponsor me and leave a message by selecting the donate button above.
Thanks for supporting our efforts in raising money for this charitable cause in honour of our Evie and Rosie!
Hope the run went well. Thinking of you x
