In December 2020 Matty was diagnosed with metastatic bowel cancer. After 18 months of intense chemotherapy, invasive surgery and radiation, Matty lost his battle. He was just 39 years of age and left behind his two beautiful children, Ellie and Joey.

During his treatment Matty was unable to work. Can Assist Wagga Wagga were an amazing support and provided him with financial assistance to ease the burden of the ongoing prescription costs.

Our family are fundraising for Can Assist Wagga Wagga so they can continue to provide financial assistance to other cancer patients in our local community.

Can Assist is committed to ensuring that all people, regardless of where they live in NSW, have access to cancer treatment and care, by providing accommodation, financial assistance and practical support to people from rural and regional areas.
