The Bondi to Barrenjoey for Mental Health walk is in its third year, going from strength to strength in terms of numbers and money raised for the mental health charities. The event involves a walk of 110km across two days, Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th February 2023.

The walk will begin at Bondi Beach on the Saturday morning and follow the coastline to the Spit Bridge and then resume at the Spit Bridge on the Sunday morning and go all the way to Barrenjoey Lighthouse to complete the walk. Both days will involve 55km of walking, so it's a fantastic way to improve the physical and mental health/fitness and wellbeing.

This event is around continuing to improve the awareness and action around people's mental health and fitness to assist in the wider community. The event is also about trying to encourage people to check in on family and friends to see how they are 'really going' and to have those deeper conversation. This is always an ongoing issue which needs to be improved.

After raising $109,001 for mental health charities previously, the goal is to hit $150,000 raised for mental health charities. The event in 2023 will be raising money for the same three charities in 2022, so please get involved whether that is by donating, being involved in the walk or sharing the page and info about the event to ensure the event is as successful as possible. The goal is to hit the $41,000 mark and to have, at least, 250 people involved in the walk throughout the 110km distance.

Basically, we're a bunch of twenty-somethings looking out for our mates on the beaches. Our initiative was born from frustration at the lacking visibility and accessibility of mental health care in our area. And from the anger at losing too many friends to suicide. .
