Saturday night 13/08 everyone came together at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel.
The night consisted of presentation from the Black Dog Ride CEO Lawson Dixon and state by state representatives. Raffles and auctions were also offered and well supported. A delicious meal of generous proportions was enjoyed by all.
Special mention was made of 11 people who together raised $52K. There were only two people above me on ‘the leaderboard’. I can’t thank you enough for your generosity to this cause and the support you have all extended to me on this adventure…it is very humbling Thankyou!!
You are all Awesome!

G’day to you all We made it!
We rode into Alice Springs late Friday afternoon. Only one bike was trailered in due to a blown fork seal.
The last 100km was quite an emotional experience knowing all these bikers have volunteered their time in support of The Black Dog Ride. They are all here because either know someone or experience the presence of the Black Dog themselves
All of them are awesome!

Day 6
Port Augusta to Coober Pedy.
Our group looks rather impressive now with 80+ bikes. The snake of bikes stretch en route to around 4km from lead bike to support vehicle
Today fuel was the main concern today. A strong westerly blowing through and fully loaded the Harley was working hard all day. In favourable conditions I normally see about 270km/ tank of fuel today I was fortunate to make 170km. I carry an extra 6 litres incase
There were a few breakdowns today which have now been sorted so we’re all excited to make our destination tomorrow…Alice Springs

Day 5
Port Lincoln to Port Augusta and halfway across Australia.
Wow today we had a bit of everything but mainly really strong wind. Riding in windy conditions rapidly saps one’s energy. A lunch break at Kimba provided by the footy club was appreciated by all!
Tonight we meet the Western Australian Black Dog Riders and together will turn our bikes northward tomorrow

Day 4 Whyalla to Port Lincoln
An easy ride today with a fuel stop at Cowell and a lunch break at Tumby Bay
We farewelled the last of our stage riders as the remaining group will be riding all the way to Alice Springs
We have had a couple of casualties namely electrical issues on motorcycles most of which have been rectified and those will soon be rejoining our group

Day 4 Broken Hill to Whyalla
Great ride weather and treated with the most wonderful scenery en route
We enjoyed the hospitality of Peterborough where the Mayor Ruth Whittle greeted us and commended our efforts towards The Black Dog cause. The Rotary Club served a delicious lunch before we again headed off toward Whyalla ?

Day 2 Breakfast at Mildura with ‘Winston’ and off to Broken Hill with a quick trip to Silverton the Mundi Mundi lookout and the Black Dog Ride to the Red Centre adventure Umberumberka Reservoir
The Black Dog mascot Winston is named after Sir Winston Churchill who noted ‘being hounded by the black dog of depression’

Friday evening I was invited to speak before a group of blokes at a combined Shed Men evening. Springhead Local Blokes and Birdwood Shed Men came together for an evening at Springhead.
I explained how the idea of this adventure was borne and the preparation I’ve undertaken in readiness. More importantly I highlighted the Black Dog Riders and the cause the group promotes.
The discussion which followed proved mental health awareness and suicide prevention is a very real topic. It does not discriminate in age, sex, background or circumstance
