The 4x4x48 challenge was created by David Goggins; a US based Ultra Marathoner and previous Seal in the US armed forces. The 4x4x48 is a run consisting of four miles every four hours for forty-eight hours. This equates to 77kms over the two-day adventure; starting on the 4th through to the 6th March. The premise of the run is to raise money for a selected charity, put yourself to work and get out of your comfort zone. This year, we have chosen Lifeline WA and aim to raise $5000.
In the 2020/21 year, 64,280 people reached out to Lifeline WA in crisis. 23% of these calls related to family and relationships. That is why it is so important to make sure you check in on your close ones, as you never know when crisis can happen. A $39 donation will fund one crisis call to Lifeline WA and could save a life. Taking into account it takes 170 hours of training to become an accredited crisis supporter, it takes $4000 to train just one volunteer. We would love to be able to put at least one of the 243 volunteers through training and fund a further 25 calls.
We have set multiple locations that vary throughout the two days and we would love people to join in some legs along the way; no matter if you walk or run. Don’t be afraid to round up some friends and head down to one of the locations! We are hoping that each participant will donate $10 for each leg they complete. To be added to the Facebook group (which will contain the details of the times and meetup places) or if you have any questions regarding the challenge, please contact Royce as below:
