Thanks for visiting my Fundraising Page for Mission Melanoma! In November 2021 we lost Dad (Lionel) at 66 years old. He played such an important role in so many peoples lives as a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle & friend to name a few! In September 2021 he was diagnosed with a 22cm melanoma. His specialists didn’t know how he was walking with the pressure or was putting on his spine & pelvis. We had never known Dad to be sick or unwell, so seeing him in so much pain & suffering & going from being so fit & active to frail & losing all independence broke our hearts. In the short time between Dads diagnosis & losing him we learnt so much about melanoma & what a horrible painful form of cancer it is. It has made us determined as a family to do what we can to create awareness so no one else has to watch their loved one suffer & experience what we did losing Dad. Mission Melanoma is such an important way to contribute to creating the awareness. Whilst it isn’t the easiest or most pleasant conversations it is incredibly important & we are Doing it For Lionel, not just in March, but in the words of his favourite song from Randy Travis for “Forever and Ever Amen”.
