Did you know that 1 in 6 Australian women have experienced physical or sexual violence from a current or previously cohabitating partner? Personally, we think this is a shocking statistic. As a Norths Rugby Club, to combat the impacts felt by families in our local community due to domestic abuse, our players and community members are collectively walking or running 2.2 million steps in the month of October (to represent the 2.2 million women who have experienced emotional abuse by a current or previous partner since the age of 15) and aiming to raise Raise at least $2,000 for our local community domestic violence refuge, Mary’s House. Let women and children know that they are not on this journey alone. That this community joins together to say ‘no’ to domestic violence and abuse.
