Intrepid members of the Tasmanian Rangers Association are tackling a 525 kilometre relay through Tasmania’s wild heart to raise funds for our colleagues in Timor-Leste. The trip will traverse high alpine passes through Cradle Mountain – Lake Saint Clair National Park, mountain biking through the Florentine Valley, crossing Lake Pedder by sea kayak and finally through to the beaches of the iconic South Coast Track to emerge at Cockle Creek, in Tasmania’s deep south.
Nino Konis Santana is Timor – Leste’s only National Park, and local Rangers need to urgently replace their motorcycles which are beyond repair, but are critical to preserving this unique area.
