In memory of our dearly loved brother Matthew Riordan, who sadly lost his fight, on the 25th April 2021, after an arduous battle for life. He was 45 years of age.
We would be grateful if you could donate to a cause very close to his heart, the Children’s Cancer Centre at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Matt was initially diagnosed with Leukemia (ALL) at the age of 5 which was the beginning of a life journey that no one could have predicted. Suffice to say that at the age of 15 he underwent a life saving bone marrow transplant from his younger sister. Surviving a further relapse 18 months later, he went on to live a full and extraordinary life despite numerous obstacles along the way.
He spent a lot of time in the RCH cancer ward over the years, which became like a second home and the care that he received was always exceptional.
Matt was forever grateful to the RCH for his care and for the care of so many other children over the years, so in return for the wonderful care he received, he began volunteering his services to the Good Friday Appeal 5 years ago.
Matt was an extraordinary man, who fought courageously every hurdle that came his way, without complaint, always a smile on his face and never saw himself as a victim right up to the end.
Vale Matty Riordan – a champion in this life, an angel in the next.
