Friends - How was your August? If you were to tell me things were swell, I would probably call BS on you. For me it's been OK - not awesome, not crap, bits of both - I am not happy with the state of the world right now though. Amidst the difficulties of life today, I forget to be thankful for the little things, but I try, I know there are many doing it far tougher. I have nothing to really worry about, I have a loving family and my health.
In August I signed up to raise some awareness and support for the Type 1 Foundation, an amazing group that provides connection, support, friendship, mentoring and information to Type 1's and their tribes.
The deal was complete 10,000 steps per day, each day, and in the process, raise some money and awareness.
Rather than tell what I was going to do, I thought I would just get the job done and then ask for 2 things - you need to do 1 or both.
So on the eve of the end of the August the jobs done. 340k steps, doing at least 10k a day, running 130km. I am an active person, however this was a real push. My body is tired. The idea behind this challenge is that there are no breaks from Type 1, its there 24/7, no chance of a holiday from it. My family have been hugely supportive - often frustrated as I walk out the door to get my steps as they sit down for dinner. Thank you Julie xx
The 2 things I ask now -
1. Read about the Type 1 Foundation, see what they do, and remember it so that when you ever come across someone with Type 1 or a loved one with Type 1, especially newly diagnosed, you tell them about T1F.

2. If you can spare it - make a donation.
Balancing work, homeschooling, loss of basic freedoms in lockdown - I had my fair share of plot losing, frayed tempers, and the occasional pity party. For me, that is part of being human - progress, not perfection. This challenge allowed me to remain present and enjoy beautiful moments with my Family and remember what matters.
Well done Jimmy! Great achievement.
