For the third year in a row, I have the privilege of being part of the volunteer crew for the Oscars Hut2Hut event, a 100km running and trekking challenge over three days (Friday – Sunday) in support of raising funds for Autism services in regional Victoria through the Oscars100 charity.
My role is as part of the course “sweeper” crew across the three days. No, I won’t be riding a broom (my normal means of transport), but my role is to “take the rear” of the race from beginning to end with three other volunteers to ensure that all participants make the required cut-offs, clean up the course markings on-course and confirming close down each of the marshal and aid stations, and coordination with safety services for any injured participants.
It’s been an absolute privilege to be a small part of this event over the last few years and I’d appreciate any support - please feel free to do a Russell Coight and “get behind” me for this amazing charity by donating a bob or two.
Thanks a billion.
Well done boss :)
