24 people dead, 2,000 homes destroyed, over 15 million hectares burnt and millions of unique Australian animals perished. These numbers all over the media are terrifying and unimaginable for everyone around the world, and it's impossible to realise the full force of these fires unless we're one of the Australians who have tragically lost everything to them.
Nature has shown us how powerful it can be - fire provides us with warmth and water with life, yet they can also completely devastate entire communities in the matter of days.
I've been extremely fortunate to live in an area away from the fires, however, it's part of our duty as fellow Australians to help those who have not been able to share in this fortune. I'm hoping you can help me raise $750 to support the Australian Red Cross, which is continuously supporting communities affected by the fires and providing shelter and resources in evacuation and recovery centres.
To start off, I'll be donating $100 of my personal earnings. Remember: while it's impossible for a single human to bring this catastrophe to an end, the power of our collective action is immense, and can help hundreds of victims rebuild their lives. I'd appreciate even a few dollars from you - your selfless intention is what matters most.
