Great Ocean Road Cycling Club raising fund for Great Ocean Road Health. The Murray to Moyne is an annual team cycle relay event of 520km, from Echuca to Port Fairy. Participants raise funds for hospitals, health services and related charities. For over a decade a number of local surf coast teams have used this event to raise important donations for the Lorne Community Hospital and other health services. In 2020 the Great Ocean Road Cycling Club (GORC) have volunteered to manage the Murray to Moyne events in our region building on the great work achieved by the Lorne Spinners in recent years. A number of the 250 members of GORC have been members of the Lorne Spinners team in previous years. The club often rides from Lorne to Apollo Bay and have decided with the newly merged health services in Apollo Bay and Lorne, Great Ocean Road Health, to raise funds for the urgent care services professional development of nursing staff in both townships.
