Hi Everyone, This year our family is taking part in the White Shirt Campaign to raise urgently-needed funds for ovarian cancer research. As a family we have experienced first-hand how devastating this disease can be and unlike other cancers there is currently no early detection test and a lack of symptoms in the early stages means that women are usually only diagnosed in the late stages of the disease – after the cancer has spread to other areas of the body. Because of this late diagnosis the current statistics are alarming with one Australian woman dying every 8 hours from the disease and 70% of women diagnosed won’t survive more than 5 years. Only by investing in research will we find the test that will catch it early, and that’s exactly what the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) does. Any donation that you can make would be amazing, and would mean so much to our family, not to mention the women of Australia that you’d be helping by shining a light on this disease. And one more thing—you can also head online or into any Witchery store and buy one of their specially designed white shirts from 11 April – 8 May.
