In April I will be joining a team of supporters who will be hiking 10-20kms a day in an extraordinary challenge in rough Tassie terrain to raise funds for KYDS. www.kyds.org.au
They’ve recently found out that there will be some significant funding cuts, which may mean they are not able to help the people that need it the most. We can’t let that happen.
Who KYDS and why do they matter?
KYDS help young people understand, and manage, difficult issues in their lives. They do this by providing easily accessed, personalised counselling and mental health support services, family counselling, and early intervention well being workshops and information events all around NSW.
KYDS ensure issues such as grief, loss, family break ups, friendship problems, school and study stress, addictions, risky behaviour, anger, bullying, anxiety, depression, alcohol and drug use, body image concerns, mental health concerns, self harm and suicidal thoughts do not overwhelm young people.
These services are provided free of charge to people who would otherwise have no support. Without the funding to staff this crucial facility, these young people would have nowhere to turn. We must ensure that never has to happen.
With an enthusiastic team of adventurers, we plan to raise much-needed awareness and funds. We will be challenging ourselves mentally and physically by engaging in a trek through the South Western rugged landscapes of Tasmania.
We are asking you to support our team members and the KYDS in this challenge.
Remember, any donation as little as $2 is fully tax deductible. Together we can ensure that the vulnerable young people living in NSW get the support they need.
Thank you for your generosity.
Good luck
