Thanks for visiting our Fundraising Page for Frocktober!

We are three frock-lovers - two ladies, and a gentleman (of sorts) - from Wollongong. We have dabbled in raising money through Frocktober before, but this is the first time we have set up our own page. We'll each be approaching the arduous task of wearing frocks in our own way, and we hope you enjoy our efforts and feel moved to slide some cash our way.

Ovarian cancer is the leading cause of death of all gynaecological cancers. Ovarian cancer is an insidious disease that often strikes without warning. Across Australia, one woman dies every eight hours from this disease.

The key to changing this statistic and giving women with ovarian cancer a better long-term outlook is early detection. However, no simple or effective early screening method currently exists. Which means most women diagnosed are already in the advanced stages of the disease.

The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) is committed to furthering research into this currently not-well-understood disease. Through their study, it will be possible to develop a test to allow for early detection and improve treatment methods, so that even those diagnosed in the later stages of the disease will enjoy a greatly enhanced future.

You can sponsor us and leave a message by selecting the donate button above.

Thanks for supporting our efforts in raising money for this cause!

We've reached our $600 target (which itself was an increase on our original $200 target). We won't increase the target again, but donations are still welcome. More than welcome.

And thank you to everyone who has donated so generously so far!

The high point of my Frocktober campaign (so far) was meeting Dr Susan Hayes, the artist responsible for the forensic facial reconstruction of the hominid Homo floresiensis.

Great to see that we're well on our way to our updated goal. I may have to increase it *again*, which is truly wonderful. Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far.

We made our initial goal! Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far.

It set our target quite low because, to be honest, I wasn't sure how many people would rise to the occasion. But thanks to the generosity of our supporters we hit our goal barely a third of the way into the month.

I've doubled it. So let's see if we can make it $400 now.

Catherine went with warm and comfortable on a cold Wednesday evening, but still rocked the frock.

Many thanks to each and every one of you who has donated to our page so far. We're not even halfway through the month and yet we're already over halfway to our (admittedly unambitious) target.

You keep donating, and we'll keep up the long had frock-wearing slog. And together we'll make ovarian cancer get in the sea.

I said I'd wear at least ten frocks in October. Well, this is the second one, so I'm 20% of the way to my goal!

Frocktober - What is it? For the month of October people all over the country are putting on frocks to raise money for Ovarian Cancer Research.
I have joined the cause as part of the family team "It Has Pockets". All donations much appreciated.

Whether at work or play, there's always room for a bit of Frocktober.

I have set myself the challenge of wearing ten different frocks throughout October. Whilst not as hardcore as those excellent souls who wear a different dress for the whole 31 days, I did think it was a goal that would be both fun and achievable.

So this is Frock Number One - a pretty retro-style affair which, whilst it looks good with a petticoat, also works au naturel.
