Chris Botha is one of the Reason Party’s founding members and joined the Reason Movement the day after Fiona Patten announced its establishment. Chris has also been a member of Reason’s Policy Committee. For the past 6 years, Chris has worked for the Victorian Government looking after employment creation and business investment projects in Melbourne’s west. Chris has also lived in Maribyrnong, West Footscray and Sunshine over the last 10 years. Chris is a keen Western Bulldogs supporter. Chris is concerned that Government is not paying enough attention to Melbourne’s West due to the Labor Party considering the area unlosable and the Liberals considering it unwinnable during state and federal elections. Chris will advocate for more robust planning for the West’s future (urgently required after the West Footscray chemical fire) as well as a fairer share of public infrastructure and funding for public services. There is currently not enough health, education and public transport services in the West, an area experiencing the fastest population growth in Australia.
