Wow, it's that time of year again, Frocktober! And believe you me, this year is going to be massive! Well many have grown to know me as the girl with more than just 'a lot of hair' after this year's Frocktober it will be Rapunzel no more. If I reach my $3000 fundraising target I will cut 1m of hair off.
It is hard to believe that 1 year ago I was in for my LLETZ procedure which removed precancerous cells from my cervix, that were found during an early detection test for cervical cancer.
What really hits home for me it that my life was saved from this early detection test, because of this procedure I am unlikely to develop cervical cancer. There is currently nothing that detects early cell change for ovarian cancer, with many patients only finding cell change after they have already become cancerous and spread.
The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation fund critical research into early detection for ovarian cancer which will save so many female lives.
Frocktober is a fabulously feminine way to raise both awareness and funds for a cause that could possibly affect any female life.
Save lives, wear a dress, donate, and see me with short hair for the first time since year 6. There are just so many reasons to donate - so get behind it!
Well done!
