The Hear our Heart Ear Bus project works in partnership with primary and secondary schools, childcare centres and paraprofessionals to combine an ear health prevention and education program in the Dubbo region. There is no other service in Australia that combines prevention, diagnosis and supported pathways to care in the one service. As well as servicing 90 local schools and centres, the Rural Hero grant will help the high number of kids living on farms in the region suffering from hearing loss due to factors such as nasal allergies from grasses or not wearing ear protection around machinery and other loud equipment.
