On Friday 9 June Wendy will have take part in the Big Milk Freeze to raise some funds and awareness for MND Victoria.
In Gippsland alone there are 21 people currently living with MND. One of which is Wendy Gillam who has been a friend of mine for over 10 years. Wendy was diagnosed with MND a few days before Christmas. Since then she has had to sell her business and give up everything she loves.
I felt compelled to do something to support her. Gippsland Jersey has a strong social media following that we often use to talk about issues surrounding mental health, rural suicide and the stigma attached to these things - why can't we do something visually fun to help educate people more about what MND is (and at the same time give Wendy a real pep up)!
Not sure if Wendy has ever had a bucket of ice cold milk tipped on her head before ????? ... she did grow up on a dairy farm in Boolarra where she hand milked jersey cows. She also milked cows for Tarago cheese before opening her shop in Warragul 14 years ago.
