Welcome to the Fleur’s Gift Fundraising Page for BulldustNBack 2024! Michael Bakker and his friends Jon Gibling, Craig Trethewey and Johan Smit are joining the BulldustNBack 2024 to raise money for Fleur’s 🌼Gift. Michael’s little girl Fleur was a lovely young bubbly girl, who fought brain cancer for 3 years, 8 months and 4 days. Unfortunately, whilst just turning 16, she lost the battle, now about 2 years ago.
Michael’s friends know all too well what it is losing a loved one, and they all knew Fleur from young age, therefore they are supporting this cause full-heartedly. The Fleur’s Gift team will be raising money for other brave children and their families, who are going through the same journey. Michael and his family know from their own experiences, how important support is during and after the treatment process, it truly makes such an enormous difference.
They are truly thankful for all the support they received, even now. All funds the team raises will go to Kids Cancer Support Groups (KCSG), who’ve provided tremendous support to Michael and his family during this very difficult period of time. A little about KCSG.... Kids Cancer Support Group is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to connecting, supporting, and enriching the lives of children diagnosed with cancer and other blood disorders at Perth’s Children’s Hospital.
KCSG is an NGO approved charity and actively support families on and off the ward. The KCSG is a local Perth based charity run by parents/caregivers and receive no government funding. The KCSG provides tailored, practical and peer to peer support that meets the specific needs of the families. Their support is all encompassing, inclusive of the whole family starting at diagnosis, throughout treatment and beyond.
They provide counselling support for bereaved siblings and ongoing emotional support for families who have lost a child. The much-loved KCSG house provides families and kids with a safe place to visit, a place to find support and information and connect with other families. It's a home away from home and a refuge, somewhere to drop in for a cuppa and chat with someone who really 'gets it'.
