2024 marks 10 years since I started as Chief Executive Officer at OzChild so I decided to tie in a personal challenge with a fundraising target, combining two of my passions; Judo and OzChild!
Having competed in Judo competitions all of my life, even winning a couple of bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games many moons ago, I decided to throw everything at it once more and compete at the World Judo Veterans Championships - representing Australia... and OzChild too in November this year.
The World Judo Championships Veterans 2024 will be held in Las Vegas. It is a significant event in the judo calendar, drawing approximately 1,000 competitors from multiple countries around the globe. This prestigious competition features former World and Olympic champions, highlighting its high level of participation and competitive spirit. The event showcases the skill and dedication of veteran judokas and fosters international camaraderie and cultural exchange, making it a cornerstone for promoting judo's lifelong practice and benefits.
Please get behind my fundraising efforts and cheer me on as I prepare to set off in November to compete, probably one last time. You can sponsor me and leave a message by selecting the donate button above.
Together, we can help the team at OzChild to keep providing practical support to foster and kinship carers, ensuring they have everything they need to support the children and young people in their care.
By supporting my challenge, you really are making a difference.
