Thank you for taking the time to visit my page!
If you’ve made it this far, you know one thing:
On March 5th, I will be shaving my head for a worthy cause: The Thin Green Line Foundation
Read on for more information on my decision to do this – or just click the donate button!
In choosing a charity to support, I struggled to decide between a human or an animal cause, as many foundations that represent both interests are very close to my heart. But as I learned more, I realised I could support one that did both, by raising awareness for The Thin Green Line Foundation.
As our population continues to grow and appetite for land increases, so too does the appetite for exotic animals, and because of this, the existence of so many of the creatures that share our Earth is threatened. But the rangers who protect them often receive little pay, recognition and support. And they are literally putting their lives on the line to do so, with one ranger killed every three days in the line of duty.
The Thin Green Line Foundation provides aid, equipment, support and training for rangers across the globe (including here in Australia), and, in the tragic circumstances that a ranger does lose his or her life, works to provide support to the family.
To borrow a line from the website, ‘Without our rangers, we stand to lose so much’. So this year, I am taking a stand and choosing to be an active part of the change before it’s too late.

Great job Kate
