Tour de Fight BACC (Fight Breast and Children’s Cancer) in 2015 will be a Victorian Odyssey, encompassing 1120kms over the 7 days averaging 160kms per day.

Our Route

We will be heading from Shepparton, over the Warby Ranges to Wangaratta, up and over Mt Hotham, through Gippsland, through some nice rolling hills to Yarra Junction, up a nice climb to Toolangi and Kinglake, across to Woodend then rolling down through Tylden, Kyneton, to the outskirts of Bendigo back to Heathcote then on to the flats to Shepparton.

When?

This ride is being undertaken by some 30 riders and support crew between 11th and 17th October 2015 to raise funds to support cancer sufferers and their loved ones.

This year another tour is on the agenda and big aspirations are hoped to be achieved.

Over the years countless women, children and their families have fought brave battles against breast and children’s cancer, with some attracting media attention and the majority not. It is rare to know anyone above their teenage years who hasn’t been impacted by these cancers in some way, shape or form.

History of the Tour de Fight BACC
Tour de Fight BACC was founded in 2013 by co-organisers Graeme Weatherley and Dale Osborne. Graeme lost his wife Jan to Breast Cancer in February 2012 and his daughter Rebecca to T-Cell Lymphoma in October 1993. Dale is Graeme’s son in law, and together they decided to organise a bike ride from Adelaide to Shepparton some 950 kms in 7 days to raise money for breast and children’s cancer. In the first tour, they and 15 other riders and 10 support crew raised $126,959 for three charities, Challenge, Children’s Cancer Foundation and the McGrath Foundation.
