&nbsp;The Lions Cancer Institute was established in 1990 as a District Project at a Convention of the Lions Clubs in District 201W2 with the support of the Lions Clubs in District 201W1, such Clubs being located South&nbsp;and North of the Swan River. 

	Since it&#39;s early days the Institute has funded research into the disease by supporting PhD Students in their studies into cancer. The free skin cancer screenings were and still&nbsp; continue to be available to the WA regional communities and the Lions Skin Cancer Screening Unit has visited all parts of the State providing this invaluable service.
